Anita Lee Ryan became a saint in heaven on December 3, 2017.

Born a Rodriguez girl in 1946 in Long Beach, New York, Anita was strongly influenced by her Spanish heritage and their love of family and home cooking.

A spirited young woman, Anita journeyed from high school in Berlin to northern Maryland to California before settling back in southern Maryland to raise her family. She was a devoted mother, ensuring each Halloween that her kids had the most unique and creative costumes, supporting every little league baseball games, and being present for all the church Christmas pageants and youth group activities. She was a resilient woman, earning her degree later in life and then working in administrative support in government service. Her traveling adventures continued after marrying her soul mate, Dennis. The Navy took them from coast to coast and eventually overseas where she finished her career in the U.S. Embassy in London, in between travels around the world.

Anita was led to Christ, forever changing her life. Her purpose was redefined to be a tender servant for Him. She was a devoted prayer warrior, and never more so than in her later years when she lovingly touched so many lives, especially those at St. Paul’s, Rumney Bible Conference, and in the Emmaus Community.

Anita is remembered with love by her family - husband, Dennis, children David (Dina), Robert (Christa), Kendra (Joerg), grandchildren Robby, Sara, and Cormac, puppy-girl Annie, sister Linda – and numerous friends.

A memorial service will take place on Saturday, December 9th, 2pm at St. Paul's Anglican Church, 1505 Crownsville Rd, Crownsville, MD. Fond memories will be shared together at a reception immediately following the service at the church.

There will also be a time of remembrance on Friday, December 8th, 7-9pm at Lasting Tributes Funeral Home, 814 Bestgate Rd, Annapolis, MD.
